Heza Washing Station is a processing station operated by Long Miles Coffee that services 850 farmers nestled into the edges of the Kibira National Forest in Kayanza. Regular mists from Kibira Forest ensure constant regular cool rains - perfect coffee weather. In Burundi there are three levels of administrative subdivision, the smallest of which is colline literally 'hill', thus the name Mutana Hill refers to a days harvest brought from Mutana Hill to the Heza Washing Station for further processing. Additional sorting takes place during the fermentation stage where overripe, underripe,
and insect damaged cherries are removed.
