Welcome to Loveless. We're a small team of coffee professionals from Brooklyn that are passionate about curating and roasting sweet, juicy, and complex coffees that exhibit well-structured and interesting flavor profiles. We're also passionate about the environment, and protecting the fragile ecosystems of our growing partners. Coffee grows in very particular conditions, at the very least requiring high elevation, cool temperatures, and regular rainfall; in other words, an environment highly susceptible to climate change.  

It's worth it to pay a little more for a product that treats our natural resources responsibly. Here are some of the things we're doing.

  • We purchase carbon offsets for every shipment we send out, making our outbound shipping entirely carbon neutral. 
  • Our boxes are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), are made with 100% renewable materials, at least 50% recycled materials, and are 100% compostable.
  • We've reduced the plastic components of our packaging as much as we're reasonable able. 
  • We use 60% biodegradable by weight Biotre bags for our interior packaging. Recycling and composting information can be found here.
  • We roast on a Loring Falcon, which is 30% more gas efficient than standard roasters.
We think the specialty coffee supply chain doesn't need to be so opaque. We hope that by being transparent about our costs, coffee consumers will get a better understanding of what goes into producing their favorite drink, and feel better about paying a higher price for a highly-accessible luxury product. By paying the prices we pay for coffee, farmers are able to reduce financial uncertainty, and reinvest in their farms and communities how they see fit.
